The Fountain Lake School Board voted during its recent meeting to move forward with a full flooring replacement in the high school auditorium. This project is part of a larger, multi-year facility maintenance plan intended to keep the district’s aging infrastructure in top condition for students and community events.
The auditorium serves as a hub for the district, hosting everything from band and choir concerts to drama productions and community meetings. “This space is the heart of our performing arts program,” said one board member. “Upgrading the flooring not only improves the aesthetics but also addresses safety and durability concerns for the hundreds of people who use the facility each week.”
Work on the flooring is expected to begin during the summer break to minimize disruption to school activities. The board selected a high-durability material designed to withstand heavy foot traffic and the movement of stage equipment. Funding for the project comes from the district’s building fund, which is specifically earmarked for capital improvements.
